Joe Cocker is an English blues and rock artist known also as The Sheffield Soul Shouter. He is from Sheffield in West Riding of Yorkshire in the UK. He has been active in the world of music since 1960, a living legend. He is a musician who plays the guitar, harmonica and drums. In 1964, Joe Cocker founded another group known as Joe Cocker’s Big Blues and released an EP titled as Rag Goes Mad at the Mojo, released at a concert held in Sheffield College. In 1966, he founded the Grease Band with Chris Stainton and performed with it in the Sheffield area. Their music soon caught the attention of Denny Cordell, producer to bands such as Procol Harum and Georgie Fame. He soon left the band to start his solo career again with the song Marjorine which was successful in the US and the UK.
 
Joe Cocker rose to fame in the US with the release of With a Little Help from My Friends, a cover of the Beatles song of the same name with guitar by Jimmy Page, drumming by BJ Wilson and backing vocalists Sue and Sunny. This single made it to the top ten of the UK charts, stayed their for thirteen weeks and went on to rank first. It also ranked high in the US. He again formed the Grease Band, this time as a live touring band. He toured with The Who, Marmalade and Gene Pitney. He released an album titled as With a Little Help from MY Friends, which was certified gold in the US and ranked high in the charts.
