New York Liberty is an American women’s basketball team that is currently playing from Women’s NBA from the Eastern Conference. It is one among the eight original franchises of WNBA and is under the ownership of Madison Square Garden that also owns the team’s NBA counterpart, the well established New York Knicks. During this time, Weatherspoon emerged as the all-time assist leader of the WNBA, while player Sue Wicks who was once a back-up player to Lobo, was also noted as a remarkable player who took the team to an All-Star game. Recently, the only seasons in which the team has not made it to the playoffs are those of 2009, 2006, 2003 and 1998.
