John Mayall is a blues singer, instrumentalist and songwriter belonging to Macclesfield, England. This legendary singer has been in the music industry for past fifty years. John Mayall started off his career with his band as they performed in dance clubs. A decade later, Mayall joined Blue Syndicate. The band was a blend of blues and jazz and was formed by Jack Massarik and John Rowlands. Alexis Korner discovered Mayall and motivated him to take music as a full time career; he also encouraged him to move to London, where he introduced him to a number of musicians and singers. The band changed its name to Bluebreaker and started giving regular performances at Marquee Club. The very next year, Mayall won a recording deal with the producer Ian Samwell.
 
Bluesbreaker introduced a new guitarist, Eric Clapton into their band, who formerly belonged to Yardbirds. With his entry, the band started to receive considerable fame. With him, John Mayall and the band released the hit track On The Top Of the World. During the April of 1966, the band decided to release an album with the Decca Records. “Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton” was made public in the United Kingdom in July of 1966. The album included twelve tracks of jazz and blues. The following year, Mayall discovered that Clapton has formed a band of his own; hence he had to replace him with a new guitarist, Peter Green. John Mayall introduced Green as the lead guitarist in Bluesbreaker. That year, the band recorded about forty tracks, and in February of 1967, the album named “A Hard Road” was released. However, soon after that Green left the band to pursue solo career and personal projects. He was then replaced by Mick Taylor. Their next album came out in July of 1967 by the name “Crusade”. That year, the band toured a lot, going place to place. The recorded tapes from the tours were released in two volumes Diary of a Band, Vols. 1 & 2, which were released in 1968. The release of the tapes was followed by another tour within the United States.
 
During 1970, John Mayall released a live album by the name “Jazz Blues Fusions”. It was followed by 1973 album by the name of “Moving On”. During a whole coming decade, Mayall collaborated with a number of different musicians and recorded a number of different albums with different records. His producers included Don Nix, Tom Wilson and Allen Toussaint. There was a gradual shift to rock blues seen in the overall music style of Mayall in that specific era. A very improvising album was released in 1978 by the name of “The Last of the British Blues”.  
 
In the early 80’s, Mayall reunited with his old companions, John McVie, Mick Taylor and Colin Allen. Together, the four musicians embarked on a tour that lasted two years and ended with a live album. During 1984, Mayall reformed Bluesbreaker with Coco Montoya and Walter Trout. However, during the start of 21^st century, the band was dissolved.
