Jennifer Nettles is ready to release her debut solo album, ‘That Girl” in January, 2014 and the tour is set off to promote the record. However, the first track from the album came out in August and received reasonable critical reviews. She will be performing the already released songs from her latest effort, giving the audiences an idea about the sound, lyrical and musical style on the record. This ten-track set features songs mainly written by Jennifer herself. Her talents and soothing voice are of much notice and highly admirable.

Just as many famous stars, Jennifer was a member of a group Jennifer Nettles Band, which she formed in 1999 and had released three full-length and two live records. The bad consisting of  drummer Brad Sikes, pianist Scott Nicholson, Wesley Lupold  as bassist and Mike Cebulski as percussionist, was the winner of a grand prize from over two thousand groups in "The Big Deal $100,000 Music Search". The ensemble could not stay together for a very long time. The breakup of the group led Nettles to collaborate with Kristian Bush and Kristen Hall, to form Sugarland. The trio received a Grammy nomination in the category of the ‘Best New Artist’ in 2006. The girls could not win the Grammy Award but their collaborative video of, “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” with Bon Jovi, was given a CMT Music Award. It reached number seven on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart and number one on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.

From a trio, Jennifer’s group ended up as a duo after the departure of Kristen Hall in 2006. Together the two released the record, Enjoy the Ride in the same year. The album included top ten country hits such as "Stay," "Settlin” and "Everyday America”. The songs “Stay” quite impressed the critics and it also won the duo an ACM Award.  Her soulful vocals on the track made the sound heartfelt. Still together after two years, the duo came up with another album Love on the Inside, in 2008. The band won three Grammy nominations in 2008 and earned awards for the ‘Best Country Performance by a Duo’ and ‘Best Country Song’. Jennifer maintained a rigorous touring routine with Sugarland. Her performances made the duo known for putting up one of the most terrific live shows in country music. But the two musicians had a journey together till here and Jennifer announced to go solo in 2013. She began working on her album and released her debut solo “That Girl”, which she co-wrote with Butch Walker. The album is in post production and Jennifer is already on her toes promoting it.
