The musical follows a girl named Elphaba who goes to a school that makes her think that she isn’t important. Everything changes when one day her headmistress tells her that she has a talent for sorcery. Elphaba and her friend Glinda journey together to the emerald city to meet the wizard, who turns out to be a fraud and the bad guy. The story follows Elphaba in her quest to rid the people of Oz from the evil wizard and to protect them even though they think Elphaba is wicked.
