TCU Horned Frogs
Texas Christian University features 18 varsity sports teams. The school’s mascot is the Horned Frog and its women’s athletics teams are referred to often as the Lady Frogs.
The University’s current athletic director is Dr. Daniel Morrison. They participate in the NCAA’s Division I and in the Div I-Bowl Sub-Division for football competing in the Mountain West Conference.
Athletic History

Representing the Texas Christian University in various sports, the TCU Horned Frogs comprise of eighteen varsity teams. The TCU Frogs include men as well as women teams that compete in several competitions including football, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, riffle, cross-country, golf, swimming and rugby amongst others. The Horned Frogs have managed to amaze and enthrall thousands of viewers over the years by delivering exceptional athleticism, winning several prestigious championship titles for the Texas Christian University. The Horned Frogs compete in the Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The Football team is a part of the Big 12 Conference competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Currently "Chris Del Conte" acts as the Athletic Director of the Frogs. The Football team plays at the 'Amon G Carter Stadium' as its home whereas the 'Daniel Meyer Coliseum' is used as the home arena for basketball matches. The players are dressed in the official white and purple colors of the club. The Frogs compete with other varsity teams representing different universities and colleges. Initially established in 1914, the athletic program of Texas Christian University joined the Texas Intercollegiate Athletic Association. After six years with the Association, in 1923 TCU became a part of the Southwest Conference and remained with the Conference for over seventy years. After the disbandment of the Southwest Conference due to the formation of Big 12 Conference, the TCU Frogs were again bound to switch home. In 1996 the Frogs joined the Western Athletic Conference. In 2001, TCU became a part of the Conference USA and after a four years stint joined the Mountain Western Conference. In 2012, TCU Frogs eventually accepted the offer and became a part of the Big 12 Conference.  The Frogs Football team has been mesmerizing sports fans since its inception. The Football team has managed to win two "National Championships" (1935 & 1938). Seven players of the Football club have been inducted into the 'College Football Hall of Fame'. The Frogs have also produced one "Heisman Trophy Winner", "Davey O'Brien". Some of the Horned Frogs players that have managed to make it to the NFL include Colin Jones, Jeremy Kerley, Clint Gresham, Aaron Brown, David Hawthorne, Marshal Newhouse, Andy Dalton and Jason Philips.
 
TCU Horned Frogs are renowned for displaying immense talent on the field. All the varsity teams have managed to sway the crowd for several years, delivering action packed matches and edge of the seat competitions. Over the years, the TCU Frogs have produced several All American Swimmers and Divers including Mary Bridge, Laura Crouch, Jason Flint, Kelly Crowell, Diana Stiles, Walter Soza, Kim Healy and Catherine MacLane.
