Slash is an English American hard rock and heavy metal artist born in Hampstead, London and originating from Los Angeles. He has risen to prominence and become one of the greatest artists in rock, one amongst a handful of famous musicians. He is a musician who plays a number of instruments including the acoustic guitar, the electric guitar, the bass guitar, the slide guitar, the talkbox, the dobro and the banjo. He is also a record producer and, outside of music, a film producer. He has been active in the world of music since 1981 and has attracted thousands to live concerts through Slash tickets.

Slash is best known as the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, one of the best known hard rock bands today in the US. He was a member of the band from their debut in the eighties on to the nineties, achieving fame and global success. While still with the band, his started his own music project titled as Slash’s Snakepit and went on to found a supergroup known as Velvet Revolver which propelled him to even more fame. By the new millennium, he had established himself as an icon in the world of music.
 
Slash’s discography is extensive, as a member of several famous band’s and as a solo artist. With Guns N’ Roses, he released albums such as 1987’s Appetite for Destruction, 1988’s G N’ R Lies, 1991’s Use Your Illusion I and its second part in 1992, and The Spaghetti Incident in 1993. With his first band, Slash’s Snakepit, he released two albums; the first being It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere in 1995 and Ain’t Life Grand in 2000. With the famous supergroup, Velvet Revolver, he released two albums titled as Contraband in 2004 and Libertad in 2007.
 
Slash kicked off his solo career with his side project, released his first album in 2010, a self-titled released that received a lot of commercial and critical acclaim. His latest album is 2012’s Apocalyptic Love, yet another hit mainstream sensation. As one of rock’s foremost, he has been the recipient of many awards and honors. Esquire magazine him has ranked him as the Best Guitarist, for his work with Velvet Revolver. Metal Hammer awarded him the Golden Gods Award as the Riff Lord and he has been ranked on the list of the 50 Greatest Guitarists Ever.
 
 
Slash has been ranked by Time magazine as one of the 10 Best Electric Guitar Players of all time, praising him as a remarkably precise guitarist. Rolling Stone magazine has also ranked him high on their The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time list.
