Worcester Sharks were founded in the year 2006, they are based in Worcester Massachusetts and play in the American Hockey League (AHL). They are a member of the Eastern Conference and their division is Atlantic. Initially for four years they were known as Kentucky Thoroughblades then they were renamed Cleveland Barons and in 2006 they were renamed Worcester Sharks.
 

Worcester Sharks played their first ever season in the season 2006-07, they played a total of 80 games winning 41 and losing just 28 but they landed in 4^th place. The season of 2007-08 was relatively not a good one as they managed to win just 32 out of 80 games and placed 6^th. They again were placed at 4^th position in 2008-09 and won 42 games this year. The best season for Worcester Sharks was in 2009-10 as they won 49 games out of 80 and topped in the division and Portland Pirates were second in the division with 45 games. In 2010-11 season they managed to win just 36 games earning a 4^th place. Current roster includes fine players like Jack Combs, Mike Moore, Harri Sateri, John McCarthy, Tony Lucia, Matt Irwin and Tim Kennedy. The top scoring leaders of Worcester Sharks are Tom Cavanaugh, Lukes Kaspar, Graham Mink and Dan DaSilva.
