Rise Against’s live shows are characterized by intense energy, powerful messages, and an atmosphere of unity and social consciousness.

In the punk rock hardcore scene we find this spectacular band that has been making huge waves for several years now – Rise Against. This band's music has changed from punk rock to hardcore to even melodic hardcore – a variety of genres with shifts from softer to harder music. This is a band, in short, that knows how to make good music and is not afraid of experimenting with different genres of music. Rise Against began in 1999 as Transistor Revolt and was formed by two members from the band 88 Fingers Louie and the band Baxter – the original lineup of this band was made up of Tim McIlrath (vocals), Joe Principe (bass and vocals), Toni Tintari (drums), and Mr. Precision (guitar and vocals).

Under this name, Transistor Revolt, the band released an EP that was self produced and titled Transistor Revolt despite never perfoming live, onstage at that time. Their drummer, Tintari, left the band after this EP was released and whose void was later on filled by Brandon Barnes. The band changed their name to Rise Agains in 2001 and released their debut album, The Unraveling , after signing with Fat Wreck Chords in 2001. Their second album,Revolutions per Minute , was released in 2003 in support of which the band toured extensively – performing with such acts s NOFX, AFI, Agnostic Front amongst others as well as a participation in the fabled Warped Tour in 2003.

Soon after, Rise Against became a part of Dreamworks Records, a label that became part of the Universal Music Group under whose subsidiary, Geffen Records, Rise Against found themselves – they released their third album Song of the Counter Culture in 2004 – the debut major label album as well as the first album to get them a position on the Billboard 200 as well as an RIAA Gold Certification. It also received positive critical acclaim. In support of this album the band toured extensively – heading out to countries like Japan and New Zealand and opening for acts like Killswitch Engage in the Taste of Chaos tour in 2005.

The year of 2006 saw Rise Against release their fourth studio album – a simple fact that showed the bands dedication to producing music, continuously, and a fact that simply makes them more than worthy of your attention through some Rise Against tickets – titled as The Sufferer and the Witness. This album was ranked 10 on the Billboard 200 in the US and sold around 50, 000 copies in its first week – with a Gold Certification from RIAA achieved eventually. The band then returned to its touring with support for such acts as My Chemical Romance as well as plating at various festivals.

The band’s fifth album, Appeal to Reason , made apperences in October 2008 all over the US, Europe and Australia – peaking at 3 on the Billboard 200 with sales of around 64, 700 copies in its first week of release. This album marked the band’s move towards more mainstream music – and away from hardcore punk music, a move that was met with mixed reviews and criticisms. Nevertheless, the band’s popularity and its fanbase increase with this album’s release. In fact, this album’s release lifted them to the ranks of bands like Killswitch Engage, performing with them on a tour alongwith bands Rancid and Billy Talent.

After a rather consecutive album release, Rise Against started things slowly – it released several DVD’s with live footages, unreleased singles from their previous albums in Vinyl covers and several tours. The band began work on their sixth studio album, Endgame . In 2010, the band released the DVD Another Station: Another Mile with samples of songs from this upcoming album as well as playing in various shows in Argentina, Brazil and in several European countries. This particular album, Endgame, focused on events that have occurred in the world such as the Katrina Hurricane and the BP Oil Spill in the US. All in all, Rise Against is definitely a band worthy of viewing live, on stage in an opportunity that comes rarely and an opportunity that is, as always, very competitive – the best way for you to ensure that you don’t miss such an opportunity is to more or less grab Rise Against tickets now.
