Ray Chen is an American artist known for his mastery of the violin. A world famous classical violinist, he has been active in the world of music for some time now. He rose to fame when he won the International Yehudi Menuhin Violin Competition held in 2008. Later, he went on to win the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition organized in 2009. It is therefore hardly a surprise that Ray Chen tickets are sold as soon as any of his concerts are announced.
 
He began playing the violin while four years old and went on to study in Queensland, Australia, completing the Suzuki method’s ten levels in just five years. He was then asked to perform with the Queensland Philharmonic Orchestra when he was just eight years old. At the same time, he went on to play music at the Winter Olympics held in 1998 in Nagano within Japan. In 1999, he was honored with the Young Space Musician of the Year Award by 4MBS in Australia. He then went on to receive the Australian Music Examinations Board’s Sydney May Memorial Scholarship as the most talented and youngest musician.
 
At a young age of eleven, Ray Chen received, with distinction, the Licentiate Diploma of Music from the Australian AMEB. Two years later, while thirteen years old, he came first at the Australian National Youth Concerto Competition. In 2005, he won the first prize at the Australia National Kendall Violin Competition. By then, he had been recognized as one of the best violinists in the world with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s chair, Professor Goetz Richter, praising him as one amongst the most accomplished and talented young violin players to have come from Australia.
 
In 2008, he won the first prize in the Cardiff, Wales hosted Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists, held in Cardiff, Wales. It was here that he caught the eye of Maxim Vengerov, who lead him to performances with the St. Petersburg based Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra. He also went on to play alongside the State Symphony Orchestra at the International Rostropovich Festival, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, where many saw him live with cheap Ray Chen tickets.
 
He has also studied at the Encore School for Strings under the tutelage of David Cerone, located at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He has also studied at the Aspen Music Festival and has learned from the likes of Kerry Smith, Aaron Rosand and Peter Zhang. He was signed onto Sony Classical in 2010, recording a number of concertos. He was also invited to play at the prestigious Nobel Prize Concert held in 2012. He has also played with the Royal Flemish Philharmonic, the National Orchestra of Belgium and the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra.
