Fair Park will be bracing itself for the virtual return of the Beatles when the RAIN Dallas show swaggers into town. The tribute show has won countless plaudits for its flawless recapturing of the Beatles aura, their characters and their tremendous live concerts. RAIN is based on the 1977-1979 run of Beatlemania.
 
 
Rain has a history even outdating the Broadway show. It began as the 70s band Reign in Southern California, USA. Changing to “Rain”, they became famous on the local club scene for their near-perfect renditions of Beatles songs. Chuck Coffey (McCartney), Bill Conearney (Harrison), Eddie Lineberry (Lennon), & Grant Belotti (Starr) were the most successful lineup. Yet by the time Beatlemania’s run on Broadway finished in 1979, its cast members started appearing on the tribute show. RAIN has no concrete plot. It features the Beatles during their American crossover and covers their most famous hits, along with personal insights into each band member’s roles. It also encourages audiences to get involved with cheering & applause while singing along.
 
 
RAIN has four different actors portraying each member, to cover for its various tours. Joey Curatolo, Steve Landes, Joe Bithorn, & Ralph Castelli are the best-known lineup. Mark Lewis is the manager. RAIN premiered at Brooks Atkinson Theater in October 2010. RAIN ran for 300 Broadway performances, winning a 2011 Drama Desk Award. It has toured Europe and the North American tour includes a Rain Dallas run.
