PNC Bank Arts Center was built in 1968 and it was initially named Garden State Arts Center. The venue was designed by famous architect Edward Durell. It is among the two outdoor venues that are being run under the patronage of Live Nation, the other one being Nikon at Jones Beach Theater. In the 90’s decade two major changes took place at the center firstly the naming rights were bought by PNC Bank and secondly classical music was replaced by more popular forms like pop, rock, soft rock and R&B. Apart from this there is also a superb lighting show popularly known as Holiday Light Spectacular that takes place usually from November end till January.
