Born on the 17 th of November, 1938, Gordon Lightfoot belongs to Orillia, Ontario, Canada. His genres of music include pop and country, but he is most acclaimed because of his folk and folk rock music. He also plays several instruments such as the piano, the guitar and others and has been a part of the music industry ever since the year 1958. When he was still in high school, he started to perform extensively and learned to play the folk guitar. One of his greatest influences at that time was Stephen Foster, the nineteenth century master songwriter from the United States.
