Dead Can Dance is an Australian mainstream music outfit. Hailing from the city of Melbourne, the band is an effort of an eclectic duo; Lisa Gerrard on vocals and Brendan Perry. Both Gerrard and Perry were visionaries who have made the band a musical entity winning hearts of millions across the world. These years were spawned with albums Dead Can Dance, Garden Of Arcane Delight, Spleen And Ideal, Within The Realm Of A Dying Sun, The Serpent's Egg, Aion, Into The Labyrinth, Towards The Within and Spiritchaser. Amongst these albums, Into The Labyrinth (1993) made the band a new pop generation fever. Spiritchaser became other topping charts in Australia, New Zealand, UK and US. Touring expanses of Europe and America, the band was a song and dance sensation throughout the nineties.
 
The bands efforts together resulted in seven studio albums, a live album, four compilation albums, a pair of EPs, nine singles and a video album. The band’s works have been extensively used in films and television. From the Italian flick Dèmoni 2 (1986) a long list of movies which include Baraka (1992), Unfaithful (2001)Ripley's Game (2002), Battle for Haditha (2007), The Mist (2007), Vexille 2077 Nihon Sakoku (2007), The Owls of Ga'Hoole (2010) and many others used the spectral sound of this band. Dead Can Dance’s music masterfully accomplished the task of absorbing sounds and delivering impressions of varying kinds. The band disbanded in 1998, when both the members decided to venture into solo music creation. Brendan Perry was able to make his mark with Eye of the Hunter. It was not until 2005, which both Perry and Gerrard after Silver Tree (2005) realized and answered to the needs and demands of their fans. Their first time reunion took them to the 2005 world tour.
