Born as Michael Eugene Archer in 1974, the American R&B/soul music artist emerged during the neo-soul era of early nineties. He introduced himself to the audiences by the stage name ‘Dangelo’. Throughout the nineties, he remained a prominent singer and songwriter who witnessed unexpected success during the early years of his career. However, after releasing two studio albums, the artist didn’t record any song for more than a decade. He pinned a few songs with a number of guitarists including Mark Whitfield, Charlie Hunter and Roy Hargrove. He incorporated a little jazz and hip hop style in his singing during this time. Dangelo’s songwriting abilities and strength of his vocals were proved when he won two Grammy Awards in a row for the Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Album. The video for the single ‘Untitled’ still remains the most famous and memorable video produced by him.
 
During the 2000’s Dangelo’s interest seemed to shift towards production and he didn’t record any new material for the whole decade. But he was featured with other artists on various occasions throughout this time. Dangelo would also cover old soul songs regularly, the most famous covers include ‘She's Always in My Hair’, ‘Feel Like Makin' Love’, ‘Heaven Must Be Like This’ and ‘Sugarfoot’. Both his previous albums became two of the Most Excellent R&B Albums Of The Last 15 Years. In 2008, he came up with a compilation ‘The Best So Far…’ and it was much appreciated by his fans.
