The band experimented with its sound and presented their music with addition of some new instruments in 2000 when they released “Fevers and Mirrors”. The album gained average to positive feedback from critics, and was placed at 170 th spot on Pitchfork Media’s list of top 200 albums of the year. Apart from that, the album grossed 4.5 out of 5 stars in a review from Allmusic. Other than United States, the album was also released in United Kingdom by Wichita Recordings.

Bright Eyes enjoyed mainstream popularity in true sense in 2002, when the band released its follow up studio record titled “Lifted or the Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground”. That year, Bright Eyes emerged as one of the most successful and uprising new comers following their release.
