The Big 12 conference is one of the several college athletic conferences that make up the NCAA. This amazing conference has as members ten schools from Central US and was founded back in 1996. This conference is part of NCAA Division I and there are ten schools present in it with two more to be added in the near future. Two more universities are set to join this conference; the Texas Christian University and the West Virginia University . Former universities include the University of Colorado and the University of Nebraska . Each season, conference championships occur for the following sports; baseball, cross-country, basketball, equestrian, golf, football, gymnastics, soccer, rowing, softball, tennis, swimming & diving, track & field, volleyball and wrestling.
Schools within the Big 12 conference have rivalries; the oldest as of date is that between the Kansas and Missouri universities; it is also the second oldest in college football and has lasted for more than a hundred years. The Kansas Jayhawks are the present champions when it comes to men’s basketball and is also the school with the most NCAA National Tournament wins. The baseball champions are the Texas A&M RedHawks. Of all the schools, the Oklahoma State University has the largest number of National NCAA Championships are fifty with the second by the University of Texas at forty titles.
