Batman Live is a theater production written by Allan Heinberg that has brought the DC Comics story to the stage. The show incorporates acrobatics, circus elements and stage magic tricks for a never before seen theatrical experience. Alan Burnett and Stan Berkowitz teamed up with Heinberg to develop the story for Batman Live. Their television and comic book histories have combined to build an innovative production.
The play starts with Bruce Wayne’s parents being murdered and fast forwards to his new formed identity as Batman. It also looks into the beginnings and formation of the Batman and Robin team. Batman Live Berlin artistically portrays Gotham City and with the use of acrobats creates exciting, circus moves inspired fight sequences. The theater production has more in common with the comic books than does its Hollywood counterpart. Although Christopher Nolan’s take on Batman heavily influences the story and some of its sequences, fans can expect a fresher, closer to the original adaptation.
