Amon Tobin was encouraged with the response he received with his initial releases, and decided to take up music as a full time task, taking up the moniker of Cujo .

Through his initial years in the industry, his music and unique style made him popular. The popularity manifested in his being signed by Ninja Tune Records soon after some of the very first releases. Before moving to Montreal, Canada in 2002, Amon Tobin had already released four of his studio albums titled Adventures in Foam, Bricolage, Permutation and Supermodified , released in 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2000. The music was unique, often termed as ‘head turner’ by critics. A significant feature of his music was the use of sampling, in which he used many different instruments to produce a small sample of music.

The style attracted more and more people towards his work, providing him recognition internationally. His fourth album titled Supermodified is considered as the most commercially successful album released by Amon Tobin till today. Critics also provided positive reviews about the album, and it earned a rating of 9.1 out of 10 by Pitchfork Media .

After moving to Montreal, Canada , Amon Tobin has focused on his music more than ever before. His residence is located in the Old Montreal industrial area where residential colonies are rare, providing him the liberty to work with his music even in late hours of night without disturbing the neighbors. He has also released his fifth studio album with the title of Out From Out Where in 2002. Critics believe that this album represents his sense of music to be refined, and finally achieving a level of maturity lacking in his previous releases.

The style was further refined and purified in his later albums, titled Foley Room , Monthly Joints Series and ISAM , released in 2007, 2010 and 2011.
