A Perfect Circle history dates back to 1999, as the band was formed in this year in Los Angeles California by famous guitar player and technician Billy Howerdel. Billy had worked with other famous bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails and Fishbone. Billy was then later on joined by seasoned drummer Josh Freese of the band The Vandals and fine vocalist Maynard James Keenan. The band’s first ever performance was at the very popular LA’s Viper Club Reception in 1999 and right after the performance the band entered the studio to record their first ever album. The band has an exclusive contract with music giant Virgin Records.

The band’s debut album Mer de Noms was released in 2000, it was an instant hit as it appeared at number four on Billboard 200 , selling 188,000 copies in first week. This is considered as the highest ever for a rock band, this album was at top slots on US and Canadian Charts and was certified Platinum in Canada and US. Soon after the release of this album A Perfect Circle went on a tour and initially they also served as opening act for Nine Inch Nails and participated in different famous tours all over the globe like Canadian festival Summersault .

After playing a show in Denver Colorado in 2004 the band members of A Perfect Circle started to take more interest in side projects therefore the band became sort of inactive and went into a hiatus from 2005 and 2008 and then reunited again in 2009 to start working on new material for their next album. The band’s first ever appearance after reunion was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and they also performed on the famous late night show on NBC Channel Last Call Carson Daly . A Perfect Circle will be performing live shows in the coming months in Ohio, Canada and Alberta.
