The End Of The Universe
There are some artists who not only stamp their authority on a profession they take up but also turn it on its head and take it further than it has ever gone before. The legendary Lewis Black fits that description perfectly for his exploits as a stand-up comedian the likes of which we will not get to see too often. He has been among the best in the business for decades and there still are no signs of him stopping anytime soon. Lewis Black tickets are available for anyone who wants some laughter in their lives because the icon is on tour now.
Lewis Black was born on 30th August, 1948. He earned a degree in Masters of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama in 1997. He first stepped up in the world of theatrical performances as a playwright and started to tour various parts of the country to make his name in the industry. A few years later his quest for excellence took him to the famous Hell’s Kitchen. There he worked as an associate artistic director and as a playwright in residence of the West Bank Café Downstairs Theatre Bar. He worked there for eight years from 1981 to 1989 and got to meet the lyricist and composer Rusty McGhee. Together the two of them would end up working on hundreds of plays to form a special bond that would last even after Lewis left the place. For the most part of the mid 1980’s to 1990’s Lewis started to focus on movies and TV serials and ended up landing sporadic roles in them. Performances in movies and TV serials like Hannah and her Sisters, Jacobs Ladder and Aria episode of Law and Order etc. Those appearances played a big part in getting him noticed and making him a recognizable face.
Lewis Black’s career as a stand-up comedian started with him being the opening act of different plays. Slowly but surely his natural knack of making people laugh and his sarcastic humor started getting the adulation they deserved. The late 1990’s brought his way the break he had always been looking for. He earned the spot of a guest commentator on the comedy program The Daily Show. His animated and sarcastic humor along with his angry finger pointing persona took him right to the hearts of millions in the U.S. He tackled every topic like social issues, political scenarios, global leaders , current news and just about any and every topic that irritated him. From that point onwards there was no looking back as his popularity went through the roof to make him a household name. Nothing and no one was safe from facing the brunt of his tongue.
Lewis Black found even more success when he came out with a couple of his concert films titled Lewis Black: Unleashed and Lewis Black: Black on Broadway in the early part of the next decade. All the hard work he had put in over the years had finally started to pay off which resulted in him getting offers from everyone and everywhere. His exploits on the likes of Farce of the Penguins and HBO’s Lewis Black: Red White & Screwed cemented his reputation as a unique performer. In 2006, he released his book Nothing Sacred. That same year he also did Good Morning, Vietnam and Accepted that showed the range of skills he possessed.
Lewis Black has won numerous awards and accolades over the years that include a Drama Desk Award and a Grammy. His desire and insatiable appetite to be the absolute best has taken him to the pinnacle of the industry to become one the most celebrated names in history. He has been a constant presence on the touring schedule that takes him to various parts of the country and abroad. This extraordinary performer has hit the road once again and this is your chance to catch him live by buying Lewis Black tickets.
