Kishi Bashi is the pseudonym that is used by Seattle born musician K Ishibashi. He was born in November 1975 in Washington but soon moved to the east coast and since then lived there for most of his life. Since early age he took up music as a profession. He had the chance of learning from a number of seasoned musicians who were living in the city. He is a multi-instrumentalist in a true sense and can fluently play violin, piano, guitar and keyboards. He is also good at doing live beat boxing and vocal looping. His main genres are psychedelic rock, experimental rock, indie pop and adult alternative pop.
 
Apart from Kishi Bashi project he is also the founding member of a synthpop and indie rock band called Jupiter One. Ishibashi founded this group with guitarist Zac Colwell. Jupiter One has released two EP’s and two studio albums namely Jupiter One and Sunshower. The band is already working on the third studio album which will be released next year. K Ishibashi also performed for some time with the Georgia based rock band Of Montreal. The band has released eleven studio albums, seven compilation albums, 9 EP’s with the latest studio album being released in 2012 called Paralytic Stalks. Two albums by the band have landed at #14 on US rock Charts.
 
The first EP that was released under the Kishi Bashi project was titled Room For Dream EP in 2011 under the label of Joyful Noise Recordings. The first studio album was released in 2012 which was released under the same label and was named 152a. This album landed at #47 on US Top Independent Albums and #6 on US Top Heatseekers Charts. Ishibashi has recently formed another side project named Cop Gravy and he has already made an EP that will be released very soon which will be titled I Lost My Wrestling Match to Davey Pierce on The Big Black Bus. Ishibashi has recently embarked on a solo career last year and apart from solo Kishi Bashi concerts he has opened for other popular artists like British indie folk singer Alexi Murdoch, Norwegian indie pop singer Sondre Lerche and Russian indie rock singer Regina Spektor.
