Apart from doing solo work Hagar has also made a back band called The Waboritas which consists of bassist Mona Gnader, guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer David Lauser. The Waboritas group has released four studio albums out of which the most successful effort is Red Voodoo , released in 1999 by music giants MCA Records this album landed at #22 on US Charts.
In the year 2008 Hagar joined a super rock group named Chickenfoot, this band includes renowned musicians like rock guitarist Joe Satriani, ex-bassist of Van Halen Michael Anthony and drummer from Red Hot Chili Peppers Chad Smith. Chickenfoot has released one self-titled album in 2009, this album got good reviews, earned a Gold certification in US and Canada and landed at #4 on US Charts.
