Blossom Music Center was constructed from 1966 to 1968 as a project of the Musical Arts Association which is nonprofit parent organization of the popular Cleveland Orchestra. The name of the venue was chosen in order to pay tribute and homage to the Blossom family who has always supported and nurtured Cleveland Orchestra and contributed generously for this venue as well.

Blossom Music Centre is an award winning pavilion. It is celebrated for its distinguished architecture and excellent sound system. It has been designed by Peter van Dijk and is also known as ‘Blossom Pavilion’. Its elegant yet massive fan shaped roof has been designed specifically. The sides have been left open so the patrons inside can enjoy the outside view while those outside the pavilion can see the musicians performing inside. The first ever performance at Blossom Music Centre was held by Cleveland Orchestra for continuous six weeks. Now the band performs every summer at the venue for ten weeks. Apart from this, the pavilion plays host to other festivals and concerts. All kind of music from jazz, rock and pop to blues and country is played every year. All these concerts draw large number of people to the venue. It is said that around 400,000 people visit the Centre each year. The pavilion was redeveloped and renovated the start of the millennium. It took around two years for the redevelopment and was opened in the summers of 2003.
