American singer and pianist, Ronnie Milsap is one of the most popular country artists of the 1970s era. His exceptional ability of producing a unique new sound through the fusion of country and pop, has won him many fans and awards over the decades. Ronnie Milsap tickets are now in stock, giving the audiences a chance to witness the live act of the artist who is regarded as a musical institution in himself.  Born in the state of North Carolina in 1943, Ronnie suffered from an inherent physical disorder, the deterioration of which eventually caused him to lose his sight. He was initially looked after by his grandparents before being sent off to the Governor Morehead School for the Blind. The country artist was fond of music from a young age. He particularly enjoyed listening to late night broadcasts of gospel and country music artists. Through his concerts, Ronnie has often paid tribute to the performers/artists that have impacted and inspired him as a singer/musician. Some of them include Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and the legendary Elvis Presley.

Receiving an increasing amount of encouragement for his music talents, young Ronnie soon enrolled into a formal classical training program. Here he gained insight about the use and function of various instruments thereby mastering the art of piano. Within a short time of time he was also seen as part of his high school rock band, ‘The Apparitions’.  During the early 60s, Ronnie auditioned and secured his first professional act as a member of the music band J.J Cale. Shortly afterwards, he released his first song ‘Total Disaster’ in 1963. Two years later he signed up with Sceptor Records and released eight singles for the label, while simultaneously working with big names of the music world such as Stevie Wonder and James Brown. His most famous track under Sceptor Records was the Ashford & Simpson written ‘Never had it so good’.

Following the success of his collaborative ventures he moved to Memphis to pursue a career as a session musician. Here he worked for the producer Chips Morman taking part in a number of famous projects like Elvis Presley’s ‘Don’t Cry Daddy’ (1969) and ‘Kentucky Rain’ (1970). The same year Ronnie released his song, ‘Loving you is a Natural Thing’ which received considerable attention on the pop charts. The hit single compelled the multi-talented musician to produce his individual debut album and thus the self titled ‘Ronnie Mishap’ saw its release the very next year in 1971. Between 1976 and 1978, Ronnie ruled the country music charts, producing seven back to back top hits such as the Grammy winning song ‘Stand by My Woman Man’. Another famous track of the string was the piano driven ‘It was almost like a song’. It stands as his most successful single of the 1970s. His subsequent shift towards the rock n’ roll and string-laden pop sound earned him a great deal of crossover success. The 80s witnessed the singer score near dozen number one singles. ‘Smoky Mountain Rain’ was one of the two tracks by Ronnie to top the Adult Contemporary chart.

The country star continued to sail along the path of success producing a bunch of hit singles, the most prominent of them being ‘In Love’, ‘Where do the nights go’ and the Grammy winning duet ‘Make No Mistake, She’s Mine’ which also featured the vocals of Kenny Rogers. 2004 saw the release of Ronnie Milsap’s first non-country record since the 70s. The album which is a collection of various popular music genres earned a Grammy nomination for Ronnie. However, he soon returned to his specific area of musical interest by producing another fresh country album in 2006 called ‘My Life’.

Since childhood Ronnie was a passionate Gospel music lover. He brought this passion to life by translating it in the form of his 2009 released 2-CD set named ‘Then Sings My Soul’. It consisted of twenty four hymns and several gospel tracks including the hit single ‘Up to Zion’. To the delight of country fans, Ronnie returned to the genre with an apt titled record, ‘Country Again’. The album marks the return of the traditional country sound that the audiences had longed for all the while. Though the music industry is flooding with upcoming singers and musicians, yet the demand for traditional country remains intact. This popularity is credited to the exceptional yesteryear talents like Ronnie who continue to create a refreshing music experience for the audience with each new composition and performance. Cheap Ronnie Mislap tickets will serve as your entry to one of the most lyrically profound and powerful performances of the year.
