Alecia Beth Moore, popularly known as Pink, is an American singer who in a short period of time has become one of the world’s best-selling artists. She has won many prestigious awards including the Grammy awards. She was named the number one pop musician by Billboard magazine in 2009. In 2012, she ranked number ten on the list of the “Hundred Greatest Women in Music” by VH1. She was also part of the team which composed the title track of Moulin Rouge.

At fourteen, Pink started performing in various Philadelphia clubs where she was also nicknamed ‘Pink’. Later she chose to make it her stage name. She was determined to become a member of the group Basic Instinct. She gave an audition and earned a place in the lineup.
 
A couple of years later, she formed the R&B group Choice. Their first song “Key to my Heart” was sent to LaFace Records where L.A Reid heard it and invited the group to perform in Atlanta. He further got them signed to a record company. The trio moved to Atlanta and recorded an album which never got released. In 1998 she decided to quit the band and launched her solo career. From then onwards, there was no looking back. Uptil now, she has produced six music albums and a number of singles.
