Tool
Tool is an American rock band in Los Angeles, California. The band comprises drummer Danny Carey, bassist Justin Chancellor, guitarist Adam Jones, and singer Maynard James Keenan. It was formed in 1990.
The band was emerged during a time when heavy metal was dominated by thrash metal. Their first release contained a “slam and bang” heavy metal sound. Later on, when they released their second studio album Enima in 1996 they were seen at the top of the alternative metal movement. Today, they have been considered progressive rock after an ongoing evolution of their sound to a more progressive influenced songwriting on Lateralus (2001) and their latest release 10,000 Days (2006) their music would, “in another era.

Formed in 1990, Tool is a rock band that has transcended boundaries and has gone on to become a multi-award winning band. The original members who created the band were Adam Jones on guitars, Danny Carey on drums, Maynard James Keegan on vocals and Paul D’Amour on bass. Paul was replaced by Justin Chancellor in 1995 while the other band members have remained the same since. If you are one of the Rock fans then Tool tickets are your source to watch rock like you won’t see anywhere else.
Tool’s music is based on progressive rock, art rock, alternative metal and progressive rock. Tool has created a special place for themselves among the rock loving audiences. The first two years, however, were a struggle and they kept performing locally in LA but that soon changed when they were signed by a record Label Zoo Entertainment. That collaboration made it possible for Tool to release their first creation titled “Opiate.”It included the song “Hush” which would also later turn out to be their first ever music video. Soon after that the band went on tour with Fishbone, Rage against the Machine and Rollins Band to a lot of positive response everywhere.
In 1993, Tool released “Undertow” their first full album which was more diverse than “Opiate”. It included some songs that weren’t released in “Opiate” because of its heavier music. The band started to tour again to play in different festivals and stage concerts. The success of that tour helped in making “Undertow” a big success, earning it Gold certification from RIAA later that year. Two years after its release, in 1995, the album went one step ahead and was certified Platinum. The single from the album “Sober” won the award for the Best Video by a New Artist by Billboard.
The band started working on their second album in 1995 and that was when Paul decided to quit the band and was replaced by Justin. The album was titled “Ænima.” Tool dedicated the album to their long time friend Bill Hicks who passed away two and a half years before the release of the album. The band went on a very successful tour on the US, New Zealand and Australia soon after the release of “Ænima”. The album won the Grammy Award and also landed top spots on other charts.
Tool’s next album was called “Lateralus” which was released in 2001. This was their successful attempt in changing their direction a little bit by going into progressive rock and art rock. The album was a roaring success worldwide and reached the number one spot at the US Billboard 200 album charts in its very first week. Tool won their second Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the song “Schism.” More tours followed with the highlight being a joint tour with legendary King Crimson, which was dubbed by MTV as the once and future kings of progressive rock.
By now Tool fever was at its highest and the band released their next album “10,000 Days” in 2006. The first single “Vicarious” went to the top in its debut weeks on different international charts. The album sold five-hundred and sixty-four thousand copies in the US during the first week alone. Just like previous albums, the band followed the release with another extensive tour of New Zealand, Australia and the US and later released the music video for “Vicarious” on DVD. Tool went on a break in 2008 with no new releases out after “10,000 Days.” The band had been saying that they were working on a new album but nothing was concrete. But in October 2011 Keegan said Jones and Carry were together working on the fifth album while Maynard was involved in his wine business and Keegan himself was touring with his band “Puscifer.”
Tool is a magnificent band, different from other rock bands because it has been constantly evolving to stay ahead of the competition. Their fans just can’t wait to get their hands on Tool tickets whenever and wherever the band is playing live, as they want to experience what true rock is all about.
